1) Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to our website www.dynamicmatrices.eu and to inquiries you send us (e.g., via the contact form or email). It does not cover third-party websites we link to.

2) What data we collect

We collect two broad categories—aligning with common life-science vendor policies like InSphero’s: personal data (data that identifies you) and non-personal/usage data (aggregated or technical data that does not identify you directly).

Personal data you provide

  • Contact details (name, email, institution/company, role)
  • Content of messages (e.g., your research use case, collaboration interest)
  • (Optional) Attachments you upload with inquiries

Data collected automatically

  • Usage data: IP address, device/browser type, pages viewed, timestamp, referrer/UTM, approximate location (city/region)
  • Cookies or similar technologies for site functionality and analytics (see §7)

We do not intentionally collect special categories of data (Art. 9 GDPR) via the website.

3) Why we process your data (purposes & legal bases)

  • Respond to inquiries, provide information you requested (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR—pre-contractual steps / contract performance)
  • Operate, secure, and improve our site (load balancing, error logs, security monitoring, analytics) (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR—legitimate interests)
  • Compliance with legal obligations (e.g., retention under commercial/tax law) (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR)
  • Direct updates/marketing to professionals only with consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) or permitted soft opt-in; you can opt out anytime

4) Who receives your data

We don’t sell your data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers (website hosting/CDN, analytics, email provider, IT/security) bound by data-processing agreements
  • Public authorities where legally required
  • Professional advisers (legal/accounting) where necessary

If a provider is outside the EU/EEA, we use an adequacy decision or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

5) Retention

  • Inquiry records: typically 12–24 months after your last interaction (to follow up on technical/scientific questions and ensure continuity), unless longer retention is required by law.
  • Server logs: typically up to 30–90 days for security and troubleshooting.
  • Marketing emails (if subscribed): until you unsubscribe.

6) Your GDPR rights

You can access, rectify, erase, restrict, object (including to direct marketing), and request data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior lawful processing. To exercise rights: contact@dynamicmatrices.eu.

7) Cookies & analytics

We use minimal cookies for basic functionality and, if enabled, privacy-respecting analytics to understand site performance and interest areas.

  • Essential cookies: required for site operation and security (no consent banner needed).
  • Analytics cookies (optional): used only with your consent (via our cookie banner). You can revoke consent at any time via “Cookie settings” on our site or your browser settings.

If we use Google Analytics: IP anonymization is enabled; data may be processed in the U.S. under SCCs. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out add-on.

8) Email communications

If you opt in to receive updates (e.g., product or application notes), we process your email to send occasionally relevant content for scientists and industry professionals. You can unsubscribe via the link in any email.

9) Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, hardened hosting, least-privilege access, regular updates/patching, and logging) to protect data against loss, misuse, or unauthorized access—comparable to standard practices used by reputable Swiss/EU life-science providers.

10) International transfers

Where processing occurs outside the EU/EEA (e.g., certain cloud/analytics tools), we use adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses and additional safeguards as needed.

11) Children

Our website targets professionals (research, clinical, and industry). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

12) Changes to this policy

We will update this page if our practices change. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision.
