Dynamic Matrices is a biotechnology company developing programmable biomaterials powered by DNA nanotechnology. Emerging from research at the Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research (IPF) and TU Dresden, we create advanced material platforms that bring unprecedented control, precision, and adaptability to life science workflows. Our technologies bridge polymer chemistry, molecular engineering, and synthetic biology to solve critical challenges in cell culture, tissue engineering, and biomolecule isolation.
Our flagship platform, DyNAtrix, is a programmable hydrogel system designed for next-generation 3D cell and organoid culture. Unlike conventional matrices, DyNAtrix enables independent and dynamic control over both stiffness and viscoelasticity, allowing researchers to better recreate the changing mechanical environments found in living tissues. The platform supports a wide range of highly relevant human cells and organoids, including hiPSCs, placental organoids, brain organoids, and kidney organoids, while also offering excellent printability for biofabrication applications.
Building on the same programmable materials concept, we also developed LASSO (crossLink-Assisted Sequence-Selective isOlation), a versatile biomolecule pulldown platform for diagnostics, transcriptomics, and molecular biology workflows. LASSO uses combinatorial DNA-crosslinked polymers to selectively isolate DNA, RNA, and proteins under mild native conditions. Compared to conventional bead- or enzyme-based methods, LASSO offers higher binding capacity, lower off-target effects, simplified workflows, and dramatically reduced cost per sample.
At Dynamic Matrices, we believe programmable materials will become foundational tools for the next generation of biotechnology. Whether enabling more predictive human tissue models or improving molecular analysis workflows, our mission is to replace static and poorly defined systems with dynamic, customizable, and reproducible alternatives that accelerate scientific discovery and translational medicine.
